Contest Entry Made REALLY Easy
Having trouble entering your quartet for an upcoming Society contest? This tutorial will walk you through the process step-by-step so you can worry about what matters most...the SINGING!
What you need before you begin:
1.) Your quartet must be an officially registered Society quartet. If you haven't yet paid for the registration or renewal of your quartet, you'll need to do this before beginning the contest entry process. Call 800-876-7464 if you require assistance in registering or renewing your quartet
2.) All four (competing) members of the quartet must be current Society members, and their membership must be current - and all dues paid - on the actual day of the competition
3.) Your Member ID number, and password to the eBiz site. If you don't know your password, CLICK HERE
4.) A legal copy of each piece of music you are singing, showing the Product ID numbers of any music purchased from the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), and all copyright/publisher information for songs you did not purchase from the BHS
How to enter a barbershop quartet contest
*To start - open a second internet browser window (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) so you can complete your entry form while referring to these instructions at the same time
*In the second internet browser window you opened, go to ebiz.barbershop.org, and login to the eBiz site using your Member ID number, and password. If you don't know your password, CLICK HERE
*After logging in, mouse-over - don't click - the "Contest Entry" option (near the BHS logo in the top-right portion of the screen), and wait for a drop-down menu to appear
*After the menu drops down, click on "Contest Entry" (immediately below "Contest Manager")
*After the new screen loads, click on the link that says "Click Here to create a new CJ20 Entry"
*Click on the button next to "Quartet"
*Click on the button "Division/District", UNLESS your quartet has already qualified for, and is entering the July International Quartet Contest
*A drop-down menu will appear, asking where you want to compete. Select the district in which you want to compete from the drop-down menu
*In the final drop-down menu, select the appropriate convention. If your district has more than one contest in the spring, confirm you are entering the correct contest by checking the DATE of the contest
*The window will now display the list of quartets in which you are currently (or have been recently) registered. Find the appropriate quartet, and click the corresponding "CONTINUE" link
*After the next screen loads, check each member of your quartet who will be competing. Then click the button which says "Save and Continue"
*After the next screen loads, check the box for each contest category (called a "SubSession") which your quartet is entering. Then click the button which says "Save and Continue" For example, a seniors quartet might enter both the "Seniors Quartet District" and "District Quartet" contest
*After the next screen loads, type into the box any special requests/instructions you may have for the people coordinating the contest
*On the same screen, now select what type of evaluation (if any) you would like for your quartet from the drop-down menu. Then click the button which says "Continue Song Entry"
