The Ambassadors of HarmonyIn a competition full of excitement and talent, the Ambassadors of Harmony has won their second gold medal in the 2009 International Barbershop Chorus Competition at the Honda Center with their renditions of If You Love Me, Really Love Me and Seventy Six Trombones.Under the direction of Dr. Jim Henry, this St. Charles, Missouri-based chorus had previously won the 2004 International Chorus Competition. In the past 15 years, the Ambassadors of Harmony has received four 4th place, five 3rd place and two 2nd place medals at previous international chorus competitions. This is also the first time in 30 years the Dallas-based chorus, Vocal Majority, has competed and been beaten. This high-energy, vocally-precise chorus had the musical chops and dynamic choreography that would lend itself well to a Broadway production. |
This page lists the Barbershop Harmony Society's international chorus champions by the year in which they won. Choruses are eligible to win any number of times but must sit out for two years after they win.
