Tennessee Quartet Captures Barbershop Youth Championship
Full Effect, from Cleveland, Tennessee, took the top honors in a thrilling contest July 5 in Louisville.
Full Effect, from Cleveland, Tennessee, captured the Next Generation Barbershop Varsity Quartet Contest championship Wednesday evening in Louisville.
Singing the barbershop standards "Cuddle Up A Little Closer" and "Naughty Angeline," the quartet posted A-level scores that would have placed them in the semifinals for the open competition also running this week.

- Tofu Concern 1443 pts / 80.2%
- Golden Hour 1410 pts / 78.3%
- The Quin-Tones 1390 pts / 77.2%
- The Breakfast Club 1385 pts / 76.9%

Full Effect follows in the footsteps of their coach and mentor, Brandon Guyton, who won the youth championship in 1996 with Four Voices— a quartet which later became the first youth champion to also win the world championship.
The 139th Street Legacy Prize — a $10,000 award for the top scorer with singers new to barbershop— went to Momento.
