Every year in Rapid City, SD, the Stock Show and Pro Rodeo comes to town. Also, every year, in conjunction with the rodeo, several of the medical facilites and groups sponsor what has become a tradition--"Tough Enough to Wear Pink."
This year, the Shrine of Democracy Chorus, based in Rapid City, took part in the campaign. They all wore T-shirts specifically for the event, posed for pictures to be shown at the rodeo and in the newspaper. By purchasing the shirts, and posing for the picture, the Mt. Rushmore Chapter did their part in helping raise awareness of breast cancer in our area, and also raise funds for the fight against the disease.
The Tough Enough to Wear Pink PRCA Rodeo took place in Rapid City on February 6. Even the toughest cowboys and cowgirls wore pink during their events in the rodeo. Although a national campaign with the PRCA Rodeo, the funds raised during this rodeo week were kept here to support local efforts at screening and treatment.
Just another way this chapter and chorus is impacting their community! We Sing, We Serve.
