The Barbershop Harmony Society’s Midwinter Convention features four days of shows, contests, volunteer opportunities, bonding moments, late-night tag singing sessions, and music education.
Held in a different major city every January, the Midwinter convention attracts thousands of music lovers from around the world each year. Past convention locations include New York City, Daytona Beach, FL, Pasadena, CA, and Jacksonville, FL. Midwinter also hosts Next Generation Barbershop Junior Quartet Contest and Chorus Invitational, and the Seniors Quartet Contest.

Technical Requirements
BIG SCREEN JUMBOTRON
Advertiser must provide the Barbershop Harmony Society with the advertising ready to be displayed on the screens. Ads must be submitted either in Microsoft PowerPoint format. Video files are also acceptable (.MOV and .MP4, NOTE: there is NO audio capability). All ad submissions MUST BE in 16:9 FORMAT. There is no audio capability for any ad submissions. For Powerpoint format submissions, multiple slides can be used but it is recommended that each slide be set for a minimum of six seconds before moving to the next slide. There should be no text smaller than 36 point. Do not use random transitions but the use of color and animation is acceptable. Each ad must be submitted in a separate file and must be no longer than 30 seconds in duration. Final output will be presented at a 16:9 format.
PROGRAM BOOK
Advertiser must provide the Barbershop Harmony Society with press-ready Adobe PDF file.
Full-page ads are 5” wide x 8” tall (with 1/4” bleed for a total size of 5.25” wide x 8.25” tall).
Half-page ads are 5” wide x 4” tall (with 1/4” bleed for a total size of 5.25” wide x 4.25” tall).
Quarter-page ads are 2.5” wide x 4” tall (with 1/4” bleed for a total size of 2.75” wide x 4.25” tall).
All ads should be full color with full bleed (1/4” bleed on all sides).
Preferred format: Adobe PDF
Please note: Ads created in Word or PowerPoint will not produce an acceptable PDF for publication.
Ads created in a line art program (i.e. Adobe Illustrator, etc):
Preferred format: Adobe PDF; Acceptable format: EPS, TIF
Convert all fonts to outlines.
Be sure any images placed in the file were first converted to a 300 dpi full color CMYK-mode.
Ads created in Adobe InDesign or other page layout program:
Acceptable format: PDF, EPS
