In addition to a peak barbershop experience, students at this winter's Youth Chorus Festival will be receive instruction from a clinician with worldwide acclaim.
Francisco Núñez, a recipient of a MacArthur "genius" grant, is Artistic Director/Founder of the Young People's Chorus of New York City, which draws together children from widely diverse backgrounds in challenging, top caliber ensembles. The organization's programs extend beyond simply singing; YPC offers a range of College Bound programs, academic support, and mentoring connections. Francisco's own life story, of growing up poor but discovering his own capabilities by way of music, ignites a passion for the work that inspires his many students.
As a Society that believes that music can change people's lives, it is an honor indeed to have Mr. Núñez leading our young singers.
