The Barbershop Harmony Society notes the November 2022 passing of Dan Daily at age 90, a "behind the scenes" contributor for many years. Dan served as Harmonizer editor from 1989 to 1999. A self-taught publisher, he took it upon himself to learn the then-newly emerging tools of desktop publishing to bring electronic layout of the magazine to the Society.

A familiar sight in the old Harmony Hall in Kenosha was Dan eating lunch in the kitchen, a red Harmony College satchel on the table spilling out the hundreds of barbershop chapter bulletins that arrived by mail each month. Dan mined those bulletins for stories for the magazine, celebrating the successes of chapters large and small around the world.

A retired Navy aviator and later air accident investigator, Dan often regaled his colleagues with stories from his military career. (Old friends might recall the story about the admiral's hat!)

On the occasion of a 1999 magazine redesign, The Harmonizer ran this brief tribute to its editor — falling far short of his deserving, but consistent with his modesty.
