Membership and recruitment efforts don’t stop just because of the pandemic -- now is the time to be reaching out to family and friends or long-lapsed members to bring them into the fold!
Get help from the BHS in planning and promoting a powerful virtual guest night and get recognized (prizes, acclaim, notoriety - and more!) for your efforts!
We’ll be running a friendly “contest” amongst our amazing chapters to see who can have the most chapter growth (by percentage) from August 1, 2020 - December 31, 2020.
BHS is prepared to help facilitate and enable success with a variety of resources. Contact us at chapters@barbershop.org and we’ll help you with the following:
- A customizable Virtual Rehearsal/Guest Night Plan
- Virtual visit from a Harmony Hall staffer to provide content and inspiration
- Marketing/Online Banner Design to help promote your guest night
The chapter that initiates the most growth in their membership will receive:
- The cost of 1 year of Liability Insurance covered by BHS
- A new song from the BHS Marketplace (up to 60 copies)
- A feature in an upcoming issue of The Harmonizer
- A feature on our website and social media with a special blog post
- A commemorative plaque for excelling under such challenging circumstances
This initiative is part of a larger effort around member recruitment and retention that offers discounted dues for new members and a “Person of Note” kick back for bringing in new singers!

How am I supposed to recruit when we can’t meet?
Our Participation & Engagement Team has built a dynamic set of recruitment and retention resources with perks and discounts to aid you in this. We’re seeing chapters across the society still get guests to engage with their virtual meetings and rehearsals and yes, even audition! We’ll be sharing the love and information in an effort to make this a possibility for all of our communities!
How does my chapter enter this promotion?
If you’re a chapter, you’re already entered! Our customer service team will run membership reports at the beginning and end of the evaluation period!
